Skjold Offset 92 5-string with Lacewood top
2004 Skjold Offset 92 5-string
This beautiful vintage Skjold was the 8th bass built by master luthier Pete Skjold. Yes, some improvements have been made in the more recent builds. Most notably, his newer necks have a thinner profile. But the charm of this bass is unmistakeable, and it's a special and wonderful piece of history, and can be appreciated by anyone, but especially by Skjold afficionados.
I have owned it for a couple years, and strongly debated whether or not to sell it. I have a brand new Skjold that will be arriving here within the next few weeks, and the new one is a 33" scale, which I have found that I prefer.
You can easily get lost staring at the stunning Lacewood top on this one. It has a 5 piece maple/wenge neck and great Skjold pickups and preamp. (I'm not certain, but I believe these pickups may have been made by Sheldon Dingwall.)
The price includes a rectangular soft-side hard case, setup tools, and free shipping to the Continental USA.
