From the glory days when these were lovingly built in very small quantities by experts who paid close attention to all the small details.
This super cool bass will leave you with no excuses if you don't sound like Jaco while playing it.  :-)
Aside from the great looking relic job, it is in excellent condition. The fingerboard shows very little signs of wear, I would assume it has either been played primarily with flats, or else not played very much at all.  The bass is 100% perfect mechanically and electrically and has a really great setup.
 
Standard Jazz Bass specs, and the weight is 9.47 lb.
 
The case has been relic'd to match the bass. I don't know if that was done by the factory or by a previous owner.
