Marleaux Consat 4 Custom with Walnut Body and Flame Maple top

SKU: 2687

New Marleaux Consat 4 Custom, as seen at the Mannheim Guitar Summit in September, 2023

John Fox Bass is thrilled to now be offering Marleaux bass guitars, handcrafted in Germany by Gerald Marleaux.

Another totally outstanding bass from the Mannheim show. As soon as I played a few notes on this one, I had Gerald slap a SOLD sign on it right away before anyone else could grab it.  It has just arrived here at the shop and is ready for immediate delivery.  There is a reason this is the most popular selling Marleaux model - try this bass for a few minutes and you will see exactly why. It is so incredibly well built, rock solid, responsive, smooth, effortless to play, and extremely alive.

Walnut makes a great body wood for resonance and sustain, and this bass has both of those in spades.

The stunning English Walnut body is graced with a beautiful flamed maple top with a honey colored stain finish to show off the beautiful wood grain.

The neck is German Sycamore Maple, and is topped with a Gabon Ebony fretboard from Cameroon.

Scale length is 34" and the string spacing is 19mm.

Nut width is 1.61" and 12th fret width is 2.24".

The weight is just 7 lbs. 15 oz., and it balances perfectly and is super comfortable to play sitting or standing. This is another Marleaux that is very tough to put down once you start playing it. It is so responsive to the lightest touch, it will make you sound better and will make you a better player. And you will be inspired to play as often as you can. (Sorry, but I cannot accept any responsibility for lost sleep or missed days of work if you are unable to resist the temptation to play this bass.)
